Los que votarían por NO llevar a juicio a expresidentes y demás funcionarios públicos del pasado, dicen con conveniencia que no se debe “perder el tiempo” en salir a votar durante la Consulta Popular de este domingo 01 de agosto. Como siempre, resulta más sencillo destruir que construir, por lo que aquellos ciudadanos que buscan que triunfe el SÍ tienen un gran reto: lograr la votación del 40 por ciento de la lista nominal en esta consulta y sembrar historia en la vida democrática de nuestro país.
No dudaría que en cualquier encuesta, incluso callejera, se impusiera el sí en la opinión generalizada de que algunos ex jefes de Estado merezcan ser, al menos, investigados. Causas y motivaciones sobran, pese a que la verdadera prueba de este 01 de agosto será movilizar a los sectores sociales que han esperado desde hace décadas la democracia participativa. Son ahora estos involucrados los que deben legitimar este ejercicio en el que, por primera ocasión, se le está preguntando a la gente sobre una decisión trascendente del gobierno.
Nunca se nos había presentado a los mexicanos una situación en la que pudiéramos votar para influir en la decisión de un gobierno. Quienes incitan a no participar en esta consulta, no solo desvirtúan sus beneficios, sino que se mueven con intenciones políticas que a todas luces muestran animadversión hacia el gobierno actual, que finalmente fue el impulsor de este tipo de actividades de razonamiento democrático.
La Consulta Popular de este domingo es también el gran preámbulo de otro suceso histórico: la Ratificación del Mandato del Presidente. Otro ejercicio sin igual, en el que el Ejecutivo federal pondrá a disposición de la gente su continuidad en el cargo. Un evento más en el que la voz de la ciudadanía será escuchada, como se desearía que sucediera en ámbitos más locales, en los estados y en otros poderes, como en el Legislativo y Judicial.
El domingo de este 01 de agosto es histórico y como tal debemos aprovechar su coyuntura. Más allá del tema, que es sumamente válido, pues de ganar el sí se tratará del respaldo ciudadano al enjuiciamiento de políticos del pasado que anularían la creencia de que esto se trata de pura venganza política, debemos como ciudadanos darle vida a una nueva forma de posicionamiento político dentro del quehacer público.
De acuerdo a nuestro sistema de gobierno, lo ideal es que el pueblo mande y los representantes populares obedezcan. Sentados en nuestras casas este domingo no estaremos motivándolos a ello.
