Para Bravo Regidor, siguen matando periodistas en México porque sale muy barato, porque hay muchísima impunidad y porque la sociedad mexicana no logra generarle costos a las autoridades municipales, estatales o federales cuando matan a un periodista.

Sin embargo, gracias a Loret la libertad de expresión y las agresiones a periodistas ya no son exclusivamente un tema de periodistas. Están en juego todos los derechos ciudadanos: la libertad de expresión, el derecho a saber y la libertad de prensa, entre ellos. Al matar a una periodista como Lourdes Maldonado, no mandan una señal a la redacción en la que trabajaba, sino que el destinatario final de las agresiones es la sociedad, sentenció el profesor asociado y coordinador de investigación en el programa de Periodismo del CIDE.

Y respecto al surgimiento de un movimiento #NoTodosSomos Loret, Bravo Regidor dijo que no se trata de estar con él, sino de no aceptar las agresiones a periodistas, la impunidad ni el abuso de poder. Si queremos que México siga siendo una democracia, tenemos que encontrar una manera de dialogar si, en verdad, el presidente abusó de su poder al ejercer una represalia contra un periodista. Incluso las personas que detestan a Loret, tendrían que reconocer que el presidente cruzó una línea tan peligrosa como cuando se mata a periodistas locales, de los que nadie nunca antes había hablado.

Los periodistas son un vehículo a través del cual esa zona gris en la que ya es imposible distinguir entre autoridades y crimen organizado, nos hace llegar un mensaje: es mejor no enterarse, no investigar, hacerse de la vista gorda.
