La gobernadora de Colima, Indira Vizcaíno Silva, recibió este martes a la Embajadora y los Embajadores integrantes de la Asociación de Naciones de Asia Sudoriental (ASEAN), con quienes compartió que existen oportunidades para enriquecer y fortalecer las relaciones a través de posibilidades que encuentren para invertir en la entidad en sector agroalimentario, automotriz, turístico, logístico y portuario, entre otros.
Planteó la importancia de identificar posibilidades para abrir nuevos mercados en sus países a productos de Colima, “que encontremos mecanismos para aumentar las relaciones, colaboraciones e intercambios en ámbitos académico, científico, cultural, deportivo, turístico, entre otros» expresó la mandataria estatal.
Vizcaíno Silva les deseó excelente estancia en Colima y les dijo que su administración está gustosa de recibirles, deseando que tengan una agenda de trabajo completa con su visita al puerto de Manzanillo y a algunas empresas relevantes del estado. La titular del Poder Ejecutivo estatal les agradeció su tiempo y disposición para explorar oportunidades en Colima y posibilidades para un futuro compartido.
La embajadora de Filipinas en México, presidenta de la ASEAN en México, Lilybeth R. Deapera; el embajador de Indonesia, Cosmas Cheppy T. Wartono; el embajador de Malasia, Muzafar Shah Bin Mustafa; el embajador de la República Socialista de Vietnam, Nguyen Hoanh Nam y el embajador de Tailandia, Paisan Rupanichkij coincidieron que Colima tiene gran potencial para invertir y generar una gran derrama económica para sus países a través del puerto de Manzanillo, al cual consideraron uno de los más importantes de Latinoamérica.
Francisco Javier Rodríguez García, secretario de Desarrollo Económico, dijo que para el Gobierno de Colima es importante tener una diplomacia económica y que se incremente la capacidad de influencia de la entidad e interlocución con cada país de la ASEAN; «aumentar la presencia de Colima y profundizar las relaciones diplomáticas, comerciales y de cooperación en sus países, acercar los sectores empresariales y educativos de Colima, que son importantes para su economía también y promoverlos en sus países».
Rodríguez García señaló que, con cifras del 2022, Colima le compra alrededor de 247 millones de dólares y sólo le vende 3 millones de dólares a los países de la ASEAN. Sin embargo, refirió que en el último año y medio las exportaciones de frutas a estos lugares se han incrementado en 11%, por lo que consideró que con esta visita y con el liderazgo de la gobernadora Indira Vizcaíno Silva se fortalecerá esta relación para poder exportar y ofertarles más productos.
