Este viernes revive el Bar Social, ícono de Manzanillo

Manzanillo

Será este viernes cuando reabra sus puertas uno de los bares más emblemáticos del Centro Histórico de Manzanillo, el Bar Social, establecido en 1952, ubicado en el famoso Edificio Maquetto, justo frente a la Presidencia Municipal del Puerto manzanillense.

La administración original lo mantuvo abierto hasta 2015, siempre bajo el concepto de cantina, servicio en el que fue pionero en el municipio de Manzanillo, dando alimentos a quienes consumían licor y cerveza en sus elegantes instalaciones.

Hay varias leyendas que se pueden encontrar en la web sobre este emblemático bar, como el hecho de que, en 1959, fue utilizado como centro hospitalario para atender y brindar refugio a enfermos y lesionados por los efectos del ciclón.

Personajes de todo tipo llegaron a darle ese eclecticismo que le dio un aire de mito al Bar Social; acudían pescadores, políticos de todos los niveles del gobierno, empresarios, jornaleros y turistas nacionales y extranjeros.

Este viernes, en punto de las 2 de la tarde, el Bar Social reabre sus puertas para continuar siendo una de las leyendas vivientes del Centro Histórico de Manzanillo.
