El Acuerdo por la Democracia propuesto por el Presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador es en estricto sentido un llamado a cumplir con la ley, por lo que no está sujeto al contentillo de gobernadores que han querido condicionar su adhesión, ya que el cumplimiento del marco legal no admite regateos, afirmó el diputado federal Hirepan Maya Martinez.
El legislador de Morena enfatizó que con dicho acuerdo lo que busca el Presidente de la República es restaurar el sistema democrático en México, ya que había sido pervertido por una serie de prácticas ilegales, desde el desvío de recursos públicos a campañas electorales hasta el robo de votos.
Añadió que, aunque se apela a la buena voluntad de los gobernadores, éstos no pueden poner condiciones al Acuerdo por la Democracia, ya que «todo lo que está ahí plasmado implica hacer valer la ley, ni más ni menos».
Hirepan Maya recordó que combatir el fraude electoral es una de las prioridades de la cuarta transformación, por ello desde el Congreso de la Unión se reformó la ley con el propósito de aplicar prisión preventiva en la sanción de delitos electorales.
El delegado nacional de Morena en Colima subrayó que en el Acuerdo por la Democracia va implícito el compromiso del Presidente de no intervenir en el proceso electoral, «porque Morena llegó al poder para renovar la vida pública de México, no para perpetuar el círculo vicioso de la corrupción».
