LA ULTRA EUROPEA

En un podcast como La Base dedicado a denunciar la manipulación en los medios de comunicación, Inna Afinogenova dedica su sección de análisis internacional Para Qué Me Invitan al camino que Europa ha recorrido hacia la normalización del voto a la ultraderecha o, como ahora les gusta decir a los medios respecto al caso de Italia, la centro destra (centro-derecha).

El noveno programa de la segunda temporada del podcast en diario Público, estrenado el 26 de septiembre de 2022 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV0qN_9KIn0), fue dedicado a hablar de nuevos fascismos. Un día antes, Giorgia Meloni, líder de Fratelli d’Italia (Hermanos de Italia), había ganado las eleciones al frente de una coalición de la que forman parte la Liga de Matteo Salvini y Fuerza Italia de Silvio Berlusconi, por lo que la también periodista además de política italiana presidirá el Consejo de Ministros.

La Base es moderada por Pablo Iglesias, fundador y exsecretario general del partido Podemos, quien como aliado parlamentario del PSOE llegó a ser vicepresidente del gobierno español. Y, en esta emisión, el comunicólogo y politólogo plantea a sus contertulios una tesis inquietante: el avance de la ultraderecha en Europa es consecuencia indirecta del papel que ha jugado el poder mediático, blanqueando ideológicamente al fascismo al describirlo como un movimiento de centro-derecha.

Al hablar del avance de las fuerzas políticas de extrema derecha en muchos países de Europa y también en América Latina, Afinogenova empieza por reseñar un proyecto de cooperación entre académicos y periodistas que lanzó The Guardian, llamado Populist:

El panel calculó que, del 5% en 2004, el apoyo a los movimientos de ultraderecha en Europa pasó al 15% en 2019. Hoy con los fascistas en el gobierno de Italia y, luego de la pandemia, con la fuerza que han ganado movimientos como QAnon en Estados Unidos, es de suponer que la cifra sea mucho mayor.

Haciendo un mapa de la ultraderecha europea para ver en qué países ya está en el gobierno y condiciona la política, y dónde está empezando a ascender, Inna comienza por la vieja guardia: Hungría y Polonia.

CÁMARA HÚNGARA

En abril de este año, Viktor Orban volvió a ganar las elecciones en Hungría por cuarta vez consecutiva. Lleva 12 años gobernando el país, todos ellos liderando una coalición de partidos ultranacionalistas y euroescépticos entre la fuerza política que él encabeza, Fidesz, y el Partido Popular Demócrata Cristiano.

En la pasada elección, el partido de Orban consiguió un 53% de los votos; parece tener dominio absoluto de la política húngara. Su discurso es el de la ultraderecha ordinaria contra los derechos LGBT, las feministas y los inmigrantes que amenazan a la nación.

En 2012 cambió la constitución para restringir el matrimonio del mismo sexo y, de paso, quitó de la nueva carta magna un artículo que establecía sueldos iguales para hombres y mujeres.

En 2015, durante la crisis de los refugiados dijo abiertamente que no querían minorías con cultura diferente en el país. Y su discurso racista caló tanto que, como quedó registrado en video, una periodista húngara pateó a un refugiado sirio cuando, con su hijo en brazos, intentaba cruzar la frontera con Serbia. Duró un par de años en juicios y, al final, fue absuelta.

En 2018, el parlamento europeo sancionó al gobierno de Urban por silenciar medios independientes, así como por destituir a jueces independientes y reprimir las organizaciones no gubernamentales.

Hace unos días, el parlamento europeo votó una resolución que declaró a Hungría un régimen híbrido de autocracia electoral, cosa que en Budapest fue calificada de cacería de brujas y que algunos vinculan con la postura ambigua de Urban con respecto a la invasión rusa Ucrania. Si bien la condenó, se opone a las sanciones contra Rusia y hasta logró que el patriarca de la Iglesia Ortodoxa fuese excluido del sexto paquete sancionatorio.

POLONIA, REACCIONARIA

Polonia es otro bastión de la ultraderecha ultraconservadora y ultracatólica. “El segundo país del continente que más vota la ultraderecha. Desde luego, Wojtyla no se parecía a Bergoglio”, acota Iglesias.

El gobierno de coalición está formado por Ley y Justicia y por Polonia Solidaria, ambos partidos de corte nacionalista, autoritario y unidos en torno a los valores cristianos tradicionales.

En 2017 cambiaron la ley de aborto, declarando inconstitucional la interrupción del embarazo cuando el feto presenta malformaciones físicas, una decisión que desató masivas protestas dentro y una ola de repudio fuera de Polonia que, sin embargo, no cambiaron nada.

Ese mismo año la Unión Europea congeló el acceso de Polonia a los fondos comunitarios, al considerar que el poder judicial no era independiente. Sin embargo, hace tan sólo unos meses la presidenta de la Comisión Europea, Ursula von der Leyen, lo resolvió a favor de Polonia. Se ve que han corregido su sistema judicial en estos cinco años, ironiza Afinogenova.

Al respecto, “vale recordar que el periodista español Pablo González lleva casi seis meses encarcelado en Polonia, prácticamente en condiciones de incomunicación”, acota Pablo Iglesias.

LA DERECHA NÓRDICA

En Suecia, retoma la periodista rusa, se celebraron elecciones hace unas semanas y también subió la ultraderecha, al punto que va a formar una coalición con partidos de derecha y a condicionar la política del país.

El movimiento Demócratas de Suecia se ha convertido en la segunda fuerza más votada, con más del 20% de apoyos. Fue fundado por un antiguo voluntario de las SS de la Alemania nazi y explota eslóganes parecidos a los de Trump: ‘Suecia primero’, ‘Makes Sweden Great Again’ en su versión sueca; un discurso anti-inmigración y, fervientemente, anti-musulmán.

Ese mensaje parece ganar mucha fuerza por todo el norte de Europa, Incluso en países como Dinamarca donde, de momento, gobiernan lo social demócratas pero con una agenda un poco de extrema derecha, un poco nazi se podría decir, perfectamente instalada.

Los socialdemócratas daneses devuelven a solicitantes de asilo a Siria. Y, en 2016, aprobaron una polémica Ley de Joyería que acuerda confiscar a los refugiados sus pertenencias de valor para costear su estancia en el país. Por suerte no han llegado a sancionar que se les arranquen los dientes de oro. Y, en un arrebato de generosidad, hasta excluyeron anillos de boda y joyas con valor sentimental.

“Quién necesita fascistas con ese tipo de socialdemócratas, ¿verdad?”, expone Iglesias.

En Noruega, algo parecido. El año pasado el parlamento del país aprobó la propuesta del Partido del Progreso para alargar el periodo de espera por la ciudadanía de tres a cinco años.

¿Saben quién formaba parte de ese partido? Anders Breivik, el autor de la masacre en el lago de Utoya que, en 2011, asesinó a 77 personas para defender a su pueblo y su religión.

De hecho, el Partido del Progreso dos años después de esta matanza formó parte del gobierno, y permaneció allí durante siete con la misma retórica racista de siempre.

LAS GALIAS CONSERVADORAS

En Francia, desde hace décadas la ultraderecha se ha asociado con el Frente Nacional y con la familia Le Pen:

Jean-Marie Le Pen se presentó a las elecciones presidenciales desde 1974 hasta 2007, excepto a una, con resultados que rondaron siempre un 15%.

Su hija Marine Le Pen que en 2011 le tomó el relevo en el liderazgo del partido, está teniendo más éxito. En las elecciones de abril de este año intentó moderar un poquito su discurso para dar menos miedo, y obtuvo un 42% de los votos en la segunda vuelta. Por segunda vez perdía frente a Macron.

En 2019, los franceses la consideraron la mujer más influyente de la sociedad y se puede decir que Marine Le Pen goza de bastante apoyo, incluso más allá de Francia.

A principios de este año también sorprendió Portugal donde, durante las elecciones generales, la extrema derecha encarnada en el Partido Chega se convirtió en la tercera fuerza.

“Esas formaciones no tenían presencia significativa en el parlamento portugués, pero en pocos años multiplicaron por cinco su apoyo: pasaron del 1.4 al 7.4”, apunta Iglesias.

Tal vez contaron con los mismos medios de comunicación proclives a la derecha que en España, señala Afinogenova.

SUDAMÉRICA FASCISTA

Para finalizar, Inna da unos datos de Latinoamérica donde la ultraderecha también levanta cabeza:

En Chile estuvo a punto de llegar al poder representada por José Antonio Kast, pinochetista declarado y apoyado por unos sectores directamente neonazis que consideran que estuvo bien fusilada la gente durante la dictadura militar.

En Argentina están Javier Milei y los sectores cercanos a él, ultrarreaccionarios que inspiraron a una serie de grupúsculos neonazis que ahora están siendo investigados por el intento de asesinato de Cristina Kirchner.

En Brasil la ultraderecha gobierna con Bolsonaro desde hace casi cuatro años, pero es probable que ese régimen llegue a su fin luego que el 3 de octubre se celebren elecciones presidenciales. Todo indicaba que si Lula no ganase en la primera vuelta, ganaría en la segunda, y así caería la principal fortaleza ultraderechista de Latinoamérica.

EXTREMA DERECHA 2.0

Del elenco de La Base, antes de Afinogenova, la matemática Sara Serrano dio datos para entender lo que ha pasado en las recientes elecciones italianas. Y Manu Levín analizó cómo la ‘democrática prensa en España y en Italia’ ha recibido la victoria de una ‘moderada’ candidata de centro derecha. Más adelante, como invitado a la mesa de análisis estuvo el italiano Steven Forti, autor de Extrema derecha 2.0. Qué es y como combatirla (Siglo XXI Editores, 2021); miembro del consejo de redacción de la revista Contexto, el historiador habló de las diferencias de los ultraconservadores actuales con el fascismo.
